The British Fashion Awards 2010

The BFA is a ceremony held annually in the United Kingdom to present awards to those who have made the most outstanding contributions to British clothing design during the year. The awards include that of British Designer of the Year, and Outstanding Contribution as well as awards to the 'most-fashionable' celebrities in various fields. The awards are organized by the British Fashion Council(BFC) and run as part of London Fashion Week each February.


The BFC which sponsors the awards, broke tradition this time by giving a posthumous award to Alexander McQueen for Outstanding Achievement in Fashion Design. It also added two new categories, one for Special Recognition and another for Digital Innovation.

Red Lips

Red lips is a universal classic and has yet to go out of style.They say red lips are here to stay another few seasons. Yet many women assume they can't wear it, I can say I was one of those women,I used to be intimidated by wearing them, because im very simple and actually I don't like wearing too much make up,I used to be the type of girl who only wore lipgloss and that was it,but now they're in my regular rotation and they're especially festive for this time of the year.

Many women believe they can't wear red lips because of their skin color, that only in white women suits perfect.Let me tell you,of ocurse you have to consider your skin color,but there's a RED FOR EVERY WOMEN.Even brunettes look good with red lips.

Here are some tips you can follow if you want to go red lips:

-Focus on one thing; you're look should be your red lips,so keep it simple with the rest of your outfit.

-A Red For Every Women;you can ask for advice when you're going to buy the lipstick,also you can try it on your wrist,and if you like it and suits you well,buy it!

-Make your lips POP; add a little blush to your cheekbones.

-Go easy on the eyes; A lengthening mascara in black-brown or brown will give your eye subtle definition and keep the focus on your luscious red lips.

Fabrics

 My friend Lia a.k.a "Mon Amie" asked me to go with her to buy some fabrics for her X-Mas and New Year's outfits.Personally I don't know much (for not saying anything) about fabrics,everytime I've been on fabric shopping I've always asked for advice first or simply I just choose the fabric I like the most.Hope one day I learn the name of some fabrics and learn how to distinguish between them. After buying her fabrics we went to the"couturier"(seamstress).I took a trip around the seamstress house, I found very colorful threads and many different types of zippers.I was very excited to be around many sewing things,even though I cannot sew.

These are beautiful pieces you can add to your garment.

This purple printed fabric was the one Lia chose for her New Year's Outfit.

There was this lady who was wearing those Chanel type of flats...I had to take a picture of them.I really liked them.
