Jean-Charles de Castelbajac (JC/DC)

Since the age of 20, Jean-Charles de Castelbajac has designed original clothing that encourages an aesthetic way of life. Colorful and fun; his designs reflect a passion for art and nature.

He defies fashion standards with sportswear that does not forget a spirit of elegance: hijacking materials such as blankets, floor cloths, and ace bandages combined with basic colors or pursuing co-operative endeavours with artists to design his famed Painting-Dresses.

The designer also makes home furnishings, reviving traditional furnishings (such as the Chesterfield sofa and the Medaillon style chair) with the colors. A line of carpets, light fittings, porcelain and household linen also reflect the Castelbajac style.
As well as his imaginative clothing collections the designer creates home furnishings and has designed a watch inspired by the childhood favorite, Lego.

He has designed for:
-Lady Gaga
-Sarah Jessica Parker
-Charlie's Angels
-All the clothing for the Mass that Pope Jean Paul II and 5,500 clerics held on the occasion of World Youth Meeting in Paris 1997.

Say Hello to Emmanuelle Alt

A month after Carine Roitfeld announced she would leave the editor in chief’s job at French Vogue, the magazine named Emmanuelle Alt to succeed her, starting Feb. 1.For the past ten years, Alt has worked under the current editor-in-chief, Carine Roitfeld, as the magazine's fashion director.

Emmanuelle is best k
nown for her androgynous, rock-and-roll aesthetic – her biggest inspiration is the Saturday Night Fever era. Alt has not only styled some of French Vogue's most memorable editorials, but also ad campaigns and runway shows for Balmain, Giuseppe Zanotti, Balenciaga and Isabel Marant.

Here’s what she said:
“It is such an honor for me but also a great pleasure to land at the helm of Vogue Paris, a magazine which I know very well. By working with such talented teams, I can start to work on developing the incredible potential that Vogue Paris has."

Interesting Facts:

-
Emmanuelle's husband, Franck Durand, is Marant's artistic director, and he is the one who hooked them up.

-She is the woman behind Michael Jackson's epic Balmain wardrobe. She is a huge fan, and sent him over samples to wear on what would've been his final tour.

I have to say,I really love her style, I can see myself wearing all her leather leggins and all her blazers and jackets.

Thumbs Up for Mrs.Alt!!!

L.A.M.B Spring 2011

Designers are already showing the world their new Spring collection 2011, and Gwen Stefani didn't stay behind with her fashion label.I took a sneak peak to her collection, I would personally say I was not amazed by her gounds and outfits,I consider them "Ok". I did found some really cool outfits, but that was it(nothing beyond cool).Although, It didn't amaze me,I have to say her collection was really cohesive.Obviously I couldn't keep her collection to myself so I want to share it with you. I picked the ones that I thought were the best and the ones that I would totally wear(like the dresses and cropped pants).

P.S
Im not trying to be hard on Gwen,it's just my personal opinion.

This dress is my favorite piece of the entire collection.

Love it!
